Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund Partnership with BridgeStreet
The New Orleans, Louisiana and Florida areas were devastated by Hurricane Katrina, leaving thousands homeless and hundreds dead. In the midst of this horrific disaster, Bridgestreet had 3 IHR hotels (2 in New Orleans and 1 in Florida) with over 200 IHR Associates who were affected. Some of these folks actually lost their homes and possessions. Last year BridgeStreet and its Global and Vendor Partners raised over $15K to help the IHR colleagues who where affected by Hurricane Charlie. It was an act of generosity that was without precedence and truly demonstrated the type of people that are in the company and in the industry. September 1 kicked off the fund raising and lasted through September 9th.
BridgeStreet Worldwide and its Global Partners were awarded 4 out of 4 industry awards that we were eligible to win at the annual Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA) in New Orleans. The industry luncheon was attended by over 300 CHPA members and the “sweep” was an exciting and proud time for the organization. The awards that were taken home included:
